THROGS NECK, NY -- Maritime’s Special Teams Coordinator and Wide Receivers coach, Rich Mercado was recently invited by the NCAA to attend a three day Football Coaches Academy held in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Mercado was one of just 26 college football coaches selected from across the nation and was one of only two coaches selected from the NCAA Division III level.

5.6.2009 | Baseball
THROGS NECK, NY – Senior utility player Matt Cresswell has been named to the Skyline’s All-Conference First Team following last season’s appearance on the second team. Cresswell is the only baseball representative from Maritime on either the first or second team. Matt was a third baseman, first baseman, and pitcher for the Privateers this season.

6.9.2009 | Women's Volleyball
THROGS NECK, NY – Emmanuel Palatulan joined the Privateer staff this week as the new Head Women’s Volleyball Coach.  Palatulan comes to Maritime after a year of serving as the Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach at City College of New York.  While at CCNY, he was responsible for working with players on passing, blocking, hitting and serving as well as physical conditioning and recruiting.

THROGS NECK, NY - Recognized as one of the standout teams in college sailing, Todd Hawkins (2009, Ocean Gate, NJ) and Danielle Gamache (2009, Holland, MI) were named to the 2009 All-American Team by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association.  With exceptional performances in earning Maritime 2nd and 3rd place at the Dinghy and Team Race conference championships respectively, Hawkins and Gamache continued their dominant performance through the national championships.  Anchored by their strong performance in A-Division, Maritime sailed to 9th place in the Dinghy championships and qualified for their first-ever championship round at Team Racing Nationals, finishing 8th overall.

THROGS NECK, NY - With big breeze and strong current for the entire regatta, Maritime shrugged off their day two woes with a commanding performance on the final day, improving from 14th to 9th overall and earning team members Todd Hawkins and Dani Gamache 7th place in A-Division and a spot on the 2009 All-America Team.  B-Division sailors Dan Hesse and Matthew Brink guaranteed a top-10 finish for the Team with a 2nd and 9th in the final set, fighting off Harvard and passing the University of South Florida.

Danielle Gamache has been selected as the Maritime Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the America Cup this past weekend.  Danielle and teammate Todd Hawkins won thier division at the Nationals qualifier, beating multiple All-Americans to ensure a conference #2 ranking.
