Riesenberg Hall, which is located at the center of campus, is the focal point for Maritime College athletics. The building currently houses the college’s athletics department, and is the home site for men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and wrestling.
The building features a gymnasium, a fully-equipped weight room and fitness center, a 6-lane, 25-yard swimming and diving area, three racquetball courts, a wrestling practice area, multi-purpose rooms for classes, and locker room space for teams, students, faculty and staff.
The building was dedicated to Felix Riesenberg on May 6th, 1965. Riesenberg graduated from the precursor to Maritime College, the New York Nautical School, in 1897. He later served as superintendent of the Nautical School from 1917-19 and again from 1923-1924.
