DID YOU KNOW. . . . that the Privateer athletic programs have grown tremendously over the past few years, now supporting over 23 varsity team and sport club opportunities for over 350 men and women?  More importantly, did you know that the strong Maritime College tradition of discipline, commitment and leadership continues to be cultivated and fostered through athletics participation, augmenting the already high-quality Maritime College education?  And did you know that the ultimate mission of the athletics department is to provide a positive student-athlete experience which develops champions in the classroom, champions on the field of play, champions in the business world and, more importantly, champions in life?

 

Launched in the Fall of 2006, the Privateer Fund was created specifically to support the annual needs of the Maritime College Athletic Department, its departmental mission of developing champions and, more specifically, the varied yet specific needs of our student-athletes. Quality facilities, equipment, uniforms, academic services, strength & conditioning programs, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and sports medicine are all examples of the numerous and significant impact areas that affect our student-athletes and, ultimately, their overall athletic experience.           

 

Your annual support, whether for general departmental needs or specific sport team initiatives, can continue to have a positive impact on the lives of the next era of Privateer student-athletes.

 

 

The Athletic Department relies on the Privateer Fund to close the gap between student activity and athletic fees, which serve as the primary revenue source for supporting the operation of over 20 varsity athletic teams and clubs.

 

The Privateer Fund is the one way you can support the many dreams and aspirations of our student-athletes who wish to compete athletically at the college level and play on a championship team, while pursuing a quality education.
