Throggs Neck, NY – In their fourth and final regatta of the Fall 2005 season, the Maritime College crew team grabbed two first place and one second place finish at the annual Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta on Saturday, November 12th.
It would be the two varsity four boats that would steal the show for Maritime as both the "A" and "B" boats placed first in their respective heats. The "A" boat had the fastest time of all varsity four heats on the day, while the "B" boat finished with the fourth best time.
In a finish that went right down to the wire, the varsity eight came in second, just 1.23 seconds behind of the first place John Hopkins boat. However, it was still an impressive second place finish as the third place team finished almost a whole minute after the Privateer boat.
The Privateers success at the Philadelphia Frostbite, along with their achievements earlier in the season, will help propel them towards a successful spring season.
