Throggs Neck, NY – After burning the competition in the semi-finals at the Dad Vail Regatta this past weekend, the Privateers took a second place finish in the finals to qualify for the Lindy Cup race. The Lindy Cup consisted of the top two teams in each heat from the finals, the Privateer novice four finished the finals in second with a time of 7:21.52 just behind the University of Pittsburgh. There was some real tough competition in the Lindy Cup, but the Privateers battled their way to a third place finish with a time of 7:34.42.
Also competing at the Dad Vail were the men's varsity four and the women's freshmen novice four. The men's varsity four had a fourth place finish in the semi's with a time of 7:04.41, while the women's novice four had a fifth place finish with a time of 8:37.47.
This event concludes the Privateer Crew season in what proved to be a very productive year for both the men's and women's teams. Youth will prove to be a strength for this team, as nearly both teams are comprised of freshmen and sophomores, which means that a majority of the team will be back in the fall ready to compete and more skilled then they were this season.
