Throggs Neck, NY – It was a rough match-up tonight for the Privateer women's basketball team as they took on a top ranked team from the CUNYAC, Lehman College. Lehman came into tonight with a full 15 man roster and several of them standing at six feet or above, yet it was the smallest girl on the court who made the biggest impact. Standing at five foot-two inches, freshman guard Kristy Faust (New York, NY/Cathedral) scored 22 points in just 17 minutes off the bench for the Lightning. In the end the scored stood at 70-40 in favor of Lehman, who now improves to 12-7 on the year.

The Privateers played hard the entire game, giving it all they had even with being out-manned and out-sized. Junior center Alissa Bello (Rockaway, NY/Poly Prep) once again led the way with 10 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard Kristen Johnston (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa Academy) has continued to have the hot hand scoring nine points and draining two from downtown.

Sophomore forward Shatasia Little (Brooklyn, NY/Grand State Campus) was the only other member of the Lightning to be in double figures, actually finishing the game with a double-double in points (12) and rebounds (15). The top rebounder for the Maritime tonight was senior guard Janelle Harden who came down with nine boards.

The Privateer women's team will return to action on Wednesday when the cross river rival, USMMA-Kings Point comes to town in a 7pm tip-off.
