Football Places A Conference-Best 13 Players On All-ECFC Teams

11/13/2009 4:24:35 PM

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Nov. 14, 2009) – The Maritime football team had a conference-best 13 players named to the all-ECFC post season teams, as announced by conference officials on Friday. The Privateers had five members named to the all-conference first teams (three on offense and two on defense), while leading all conference school with eight players on the all-ECFC second team (three on offense and five on defense). In addition, three players were also named all-conference honorable mentions.

"I'm happy that so many of our players were recognized as top performers in our conference,” said head coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes. “As a team, we focused on accomplishing our goals and we ended up with some great team statistics and national rankings. Having our players individually recognized is a tribute to the entire team and coaching staff that has put in such a great effort over the past year.  Beginning with the weight program with assistant coach Al Piascik this time last year and running through the season, there has been a tremendous amount of work accomplished. I can't express how happy I am for the seniors who were recognized – they helped build this program from scratch and to end their careers as an all-conference performer is truly well deserved and a special accomplishment."
