NEW YORK (Jan. 23, 2010) – The Maritime men’s basketball team picked up a road victory over conference-opponent Yeshiva, 60-43, Saturday night at the Max Stern Athletic Center. With the win, the Privateers improve to 10-4 (8-3 Skyline), while the Maccabees fall to 6-8 (5-5 Skyline).

Junior-transfer Justin Bright led four Privateer players in double-figures with a game-high 19 points with four boards and four steals. Senior Andre Cooper scored 12 points with four boards and three steals. Senior Adedokun Olanrewaju and junior Shamair Williams both scored 10 points, as Olanrewaju brought down a game-high seven boards.

Maritime held the Macs to just four points over the first 12:42 of the game, building up a 15-4 lead over that time. The Privateers brought a 21-13 lead into halftime. Bright and Cooper took over in the second half, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively, to lead Maritime to the victory.

The 43 points was the lowest point total for a Maritime opponent all season, as Yeshiva shot just 35.6-percent from the field (16-for-45). The Privateers had a 23-13 advantage on points off of turnovers in the victory.

Maritime returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 27, when they travel to Annandale-on-Hudson to take on Skyline-opponent Bard. Tipoff against the Raptors (1-16, 1-11 Skyline) is scheduled for 8 p.m.
