THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 12, 2012) – Maritime senior midfielder
Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) was named to the Skyline Conference women's lacrosse weekly honor roll, as announced by conference SID
Jay Williams Monday night.
Saporito scored a game-high six goals in the Privateers' season-opening loss to Hartwick on Saturday. She also gained a team-high three draw controls, while picking up four ground balls and causing two turnovers. Saporito was also 2-for-6 on free position chances.
She currently is tied for first in the Skyline in goals per game and leads the league in shots per game (12.00). Saporito's 6.00 points per game are good for second in the league, while her 2.00 free position goals per game is also second. Also among the Skyline's best is freshman goalie
Jamie Rocco (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches), whose 11.00 saves per game ranks third in the conference.

Also, Maritime's game at Rutgers-Camden that was scheduled for tomorrow night, March 14, has been postponed. It will be made up on a date to be announced in the near future.
Saporito, Rocco and the rest of the Maritime women's lacrosse team return to the field on Friday, March 16, when the squad plays host to St. Joseph College of Connecticut. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
