Full ResultsLORTON, Va. - A strong second-place finish by the novice men's four and varsity men's ligthweight four highlighted a successful day for the Maritime Men's & Women's Rowing team at the Head of the Occoquan.
Maritime's novice four "A' boat placed second out of 15 boats with a time of 18:54.20, while the Privateer's "B" boat placed sixth with a time of 19:26.18. Saint Joseph's (Pa.) won the race in 18:06.66, and George Mason was third in 18:57.87.
The Privateers also placed second in the men's varsity lightweight four event with a time of 18:16.89; Loyola won the event a mere 7.8 seconds ahead of the Maritime crew.

The Privateer's also had two boats in the 22-boat men's championship eight. Maritime's "A" boat finished 5th in 16:07.86, while the "B" boat was 15th in 17:08.18. Delaware won the race in 15:26.90, Saint Joseph's (Pa.) was second in 15:39.31, and George Mason third in 15:45.20.
Maritime's entry in the championship men's four placed 5th of 24 boats in 17:47.99, while our "B" boat finished 14th with a time of 18:57.16. Saint Joseph's finished first and third in 17:29.00 and 17:43.18, respectively, while George Mason was second in 17:33.34.
In the novice eight, the Privateers placed sixth of 23 boats in 17:27.07. Delaware won the race in 15:55.92, LaSalle was second in 16:08.41, and Saint Joseph's (Pa.) was third in 16:27.17.
The lady Privateer's were entered into the women's varsity four event, and placed 28th and 34th respectfully. The "A" boat finished in a time of 21:55.60, and the "B" boat finished with a time of 24:29.08.
