NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Skyline Conference announced its 2015 Men's & Women's Cross Country preseason polls for the upcoming season with both of Maritime's teams selected to have strong seasons.

Earning one first place vote and finishing with 80 overall points to land in third place was the Maritime men's team, which took fourth at last season's Skyline Conference Championship meet. Returning two of the last three individual champions in senior Cameron Coneys (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) and sophomore Nick Sherman (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington), the pair will look to lead the team back to a team championship for the first time since 2007.

The women's team will feature one returning runner from a season ago with junior Chelsea Mesa (Bayside, N.Y./Francis Lewis) back for her second year on the team. Last season, Maritime ended the year in seventh at the Skyline Championship, but with a revamped roster the team will look to turn heads under second-year head coach Colin Culhane.

With seven first place votes and 95 overall points, the Mount St. Mary men's team was projected to take home the men's title with St. Joseph's (LI) coming in a close second with 91 points and three first-place tallies. The Golden Eagles' women's team is the most heavily favored team to win a championship amongst all the fall teams in the Skyline Conference with 100 points and 10 first place votes.

The preseason polls are voted on by the coaching staffs of each Skyline Conference team.
