All students interested in playing baseball for Maritime College must attend a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. sharp, in the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium (located on the second floor of Riesenberg Hall).

THROGS NECK, NY – Senior utility player Matt Cresswell has been named to the Skyline’s All-Conference First Team following last season’s appearance on the second team. Cresswell is the only baseball representative from Maritime on either the first or second team. Matt was a third baseman, first baseman, and pitcher for the Privateers this season.

THROGS NECK NY- Dick Hack, Maritime College’s Athletic Director, is pleased to announce the hiring of Eugene Steinbach as the new Privateer Head baseball coach. Coach Steinbach brings years of AAA playing experience and more than 15 years of coaching experience to Maritime. His passion and love for the game is something that he takes pride in, something he hopes to transfer to his student-athletes each and every day.

THROGS NECK, NY – The Dolphins from Mount Saint Vincent (18-12, 11-5) defeated the Privateers (5-19, 3-13) in Maritime’s final game of the season, 11-5 and 16-4. The teams combined for 5 homeruns in the first game, and 6 in the second. Senior Matt Cresswell (Commack, NY/Commack) hit a homerun in his final at-bat as a Privateer, the 11th of his career, and third in two days. Nick Triolo had a great day for the Dolphins, hitting two homeruns in the first game (4-5 with 5RBI) and another homerun in the second game (1-2 with 4RBI).

THROGS NECK, NY – Yeshiva and Maritime finally had a rainless day to play, after being originally scheduled to play their double header on March 29th. After a rainout postponed Wednesday’s single game, the two teams played a double header this morning. The Privateers won both games, defeating Yeshiva 9-5 and 14-3. The wins bring Maritime to 5-17 (3-11) and dropped Yeshiva to 3-16 (1-13).

Benjamin Pearce
Men's Lacrosse
Maritime College freshman Benjamin Pearce won all three events he swam against Old Westbury Tuesday night: touching first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.46,
then the 100-yard free in 1:00.93, beating out his next closest competitor by almost 6 seconds in the short race, and then capping the night off by leading off the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 26.32, which led to a team-victory in 1:44.49.

Women's Swimming
Maritime College junior Caroline Hickey captured the top spot in two races in a meet against Skyline Conference opponents Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s Tuesday night. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:34.26, five seconds faster than the next swimmer. She then won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.41. Hickey was also part of a 200-yard medley relay team that came in second with a time of 2:14.64.
