Maritime sophomore Jonathan Proscia (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was named to the All-Skyline Baseball Second Team, announced on Monday by conference commissioner Tracy King. Proscia, who transferred to Maritime and played his first season with the Privateers this year, earned the accolade after a vote by all nine Skyline head coaches.

The No. 6-seed Maritime baseball team lost to No. 3-seed Mount Saint Mary, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon in the single-elimination, first-round game of the 2010 Skyline Conference Championships at the Delano-Hitch Stadium. Despite making the playoffs for the first time with this group of players, the Privateers end the season with an 11-18 record, while the Blue Knights improve to 13-18 and will move on to the four-team, double-elimination tournament this weekend at Farmingdale State.

The Maritime baseball team (11-17, 7-9 Skyline) will travel to Newburgh, N.Y., tomorrow, Wednesday, April 28, to take on Mount Saint Mary (12-18, 10-6 Skyline) in the opening round of the 2010 Skyline Conference Championships. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Blue Knights’ Delano-Hitch Stadium.

The Maritime baseball team swept conference-opponent NYU-Poly in a doubleheader of action Saturday at Reinhart Field to punch its ticket to the 2010 Skyline Tournament beginning next week. The Privateers improve to 11-17 (7-9 Skyline) with the pair of victories, while the Blue Jays fall to 3-18 overall (3-13 Skyline).

Jill Davenport
Women's Lacrosse

Davenport was named to the Skyline women's lacrosse weekly honor roll. She scored three goals and added one assist in a loss to Centenary College that dropped Maritime’s record to 1-4 on the season. The junior attacker also picked up three draw controls in the contest. Her eight points so far in 2010 – seven goals, one assist – ranks her fourth on the squad.

Men's Lacrosse

Junior Alex Korb (Islip, N.Y.) received accolades from the conference on Monday, as he was named to the Skyline men’s lacrosse weekly honor roll. Korb scored a Privateer-leading six goals on the week, including four against Farmingdale State on Wednesday. He also recorded three assists in that game.
