THROGS NECK, NY - Sophomore rifle shooter CDT Amanda Thompson has been named a MAC Conference All Academic Team Award recipient. League officials announced the honors yesterday, April 1. The All Academic Team Award recognizes student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. Thompson, who is a first-year member of the co-ed rifle team and Marine Operations major, carries a 3.6 grade point average and is a member of the Admiral’s List and an officer in the Artillery Club.

Lexington, VA – March 7, 2009- Call them Champions! On Saturday, the SUNY Maritime co-ed rifle team won the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) championship at the Kilbourne Hall Rifle Range on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute. Maritime out-shot their opponents, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) by a wide margin.

Bronx, N.Y. — The 2008-09 SUNY Maritime rifle team has found itself in familiar territory, in the championship. The rifle team will be shooting for the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference championship for the second consecutive year as they take on the University of Sciences (Philadelphia, PA) at the Virginia Military Academy on March 7th.

New York, N.Y. — The SUNY Maritime rifle team picked up a win on Sunday as the Privateers defeated one of Wentworth’s two rifle teams 2123-1853 in a rifle match at the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club in Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon.

Athletes of the Week
Jill Davenport
Women's Lacrosse

Davenport was named to the Skyline women's lacrosse weekly honor roll. She scored three goals and added one assist in a loss to Centenary College that dropped Maritime’s record to 1-4 on the season. The junior attacker also picked up three draw controls in the contest. Her eight points so far in 2010 – seven goals, one assist – ranks her fourth on the squad.

Alexander Korb
Men's Lacrosse

Junior Alex Korb (Islip, N.Y.) received accolades from the conference on Monday, as he was named to the Skyline men’s lacrosse weekly honor roll. Korb scored a Privateer-leading six goals on the week, including four against Farmingdale State on Wednesday. He also recorded three assists in that game.
