THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 2, 2012) – Maritime freshman
Matthew Sollin (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) was named the Skyline Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Privateers' lone game last week at City College on Tuesday.
As the designated hitter against the Beavers, Sollin was 4-for-5 in the game with two runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a walk and an RBI-single in the top of the ninth, as part of Maritime's rally for the victory. He finished the game with two RBIs. It was his third multi-RBI game of the season.

Also, the Privateers' Skyline doubleheader against Mount St. Vincent that was scheduled for this past Sunday, but was postponed due to poor field conditions as a result of the weekend's rainstorms has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3. The game will be played at Reinhart Field here on the campus of Maritime, but will be the Dolphins' home game.
Opening pitch of the nine-inning first game is scheduled for 4 p.m. The seven-inning second game will follow 25-30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
